IP address

Every device connected to the Internet is assigned an Internet protocol (IP) address.

SteamID

SteamID is a unique identifier used to identify a Steam account or user's Steam Community profile page.

Personally identifiable information (PII)

Personally identifiable information is information you provide us or information we collect from you that can be used to personally identify you, such as your real name, address, email address, billing information, or other data that can be reasonably linked to other information which may become personally identifiable in case it can be used to personally identify you.

Limitations

Limitations we may apply to your accounts and/or identifiers, such as an in-game ban.

Logs

Our Services may automatically record your activity when you use them, such as in-game messages, and web requests.

Information we collect

We may collect personally identifiable information about the Services you use, how you use them, and other related data. We may also collect certain non-personally identifiable information, which may include but is not limited to your IP address, the type of browser, username, and in-game messages.

  • Game server logs, such as chat messages, commands you run, your join and leave messages, which might include your IP address, and other possible data retrieved from the game.
  • Discord ticket transcripts.
  • Connection between your identifiers, such as one you provide with our link website.

How we use information we collect

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, protect, improve, and develop current and new Services, collect statistics, such as performance measurements, and to protect us and our users. Some information may be visible to everyone, such as public messages, username, profile image, and any already public information, such as Steam statistics per game in case you let Steam share it.

We may use your information for different purposes, such as keeping you logged in, analytics, and tracking your activity to help you diagnose problems, e.g. your inability to use our Services, diagnose problems with our Services, administer our Services, communicate with you in more ways, and address fraud, spam, abuse, security, technical issues, and so forth.

We will access, use, preserve, and/or disclose your information if we reasonably believe it is necessary to satisfy a valid and legally enforceable warrant, court order, law or regulation, or other judicial or administrative order.

To protect you, ourselves, and others

We, or particular users with certain administrative rights as described below, may need to share your information if we reasonably believe it is necessary to enforce limitations or investigate potential violations of our Terms of Service, this Policy, or any other our policies, such as in-game rules. We may also need to access and share information to investigate and defend ourselves against legal threats or actions.

We have certain users who may hold certain administrative rights. These rights may include access to limited amounts of non-public information and PII. This information will be used to protect you, ourselves, and others, make decisions and take actions when necessary based on it, such as applying a limitation based on your identifiers, which may include but is not limited to your SteamID, IP address, and other related information.

We may disclose your information if we reasonably believe it is necessary to prevent physical harm or death to a person, or to protect ourselves, our users, and related persons or organizations. We may also disclose your information if we reasonably believe it is necessary to detect, prevent, or otherwise assess and address potential spam, malware, fraud, abuse, unlawful activity, and ensure any limitations are properly applied.

To third party

We may use third-party service providers or contractors who help us run, improve, develop, etc our Services. We may give access to your information to these providers or contractors as needed to perform their services for us or to use their tools and services.

In case of asset transfer

If we become involved in anything involving transfer of some or all of our assets, your user information, including PII, may be included in the transferred assets.

Because you made it public

Any information you post publicly is simply public. For example, if you put your email address in our public Discord chat, that is public, and not protected by this Policy. Please think carefully about your desired level of anonymity before you disclose anything anywhere.

How we store your data

We maintain servers around the world and your information may be processed on different servers located outside of the country where you live. Regardless of where your information is processed, we apply the same protections described in this Policy.

We may keep some or all of your data for indefinite time as some may be kept for archiving purposes or may not be removed by design, such as logs; We will put appropriate measures in place, such as anonymisation if that is the case.

How long do we keep your data?

Data is stored for the shortest time possible, which takes into account the reasons why we need to process the data, as well as any legal obligations to keep the data for a fixed period of time.

  • Game server logs: We store server logs for up to 28 days. Old logs are removed on server restarts.
  • Discord ticket transcripts: We keep your previous Discord ticket transcripts for indefinite amount of time to provide you with support based on your previous tickets and make decisions.
  • Connection between your identifiers: We may keep them for indefinite amount of time to ensure all limitations are properly applied and you will not be abusing the system.

  • Strictly necessary - We may using session and other cookies which are required for some of our websites to function.
  • Preferences - We may be using cookies to store your state and preferences, such as ones for keeping you logged in on our websites.

You have the right to object to our processing of your information.

The right to data portability

If requests are manifestly unfounded or excessive, we may either charge a reasonable fee taking into account the administrative costs of providing the information or communication or taking the action requested; or refuse to act on the request.

If we have reasonable doubts concerning your identity, we may request the provision of additional information necessary to confirm your identity.

We will provide information on action taken on a request to the data subject without undue delay within one month of receipt of the request. That period may be extended by two further months where necessary and we will inform you of any such extension within one month of receipt of the request, together with the reasons for the delay. If we do not take any action on the request, we will inform you without delay and at the latest within one month of receipt of the request of the reasons for not taking action.

Third Parties

We might share your information with third parties and this Policy does not apply to services offered by them, including their content that may be displayed on our Services. We do not control any privacy policies and your privacy settings on their services, including social networks. Also known as Cheating, methods of gameplay not expressly authorized by us, facilitating or influencing gameplay or granting you or any other user any sort of advantages over other players who are not using these methods, including exploits, bugs, errors, undocumented features, and so forth.

Ownership and Limited License

Ownership

Rust Reborn and all Services are owned and operated by Yannick Kreth Softwareentwicklung. All intellectual property rights, including copyright, in the content displayed on our Services belong to us. All rights are hereby reserved.

License

We grant you a non-commercial, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, limited license, subject to the limitations in these Terms of Service, to access and use our Services for your own entertainment purposes. You agree that you will not use the Services for any other purpose.

Accounts

You may access our Services through Accounts. These Terms of Service apply to all users of said Account. It is the responsibility of the Account owner to ensure that all Account users have read and will comply with these Terms of Service.

We may permanently delete Service Accounts on our Services or delete data associated with Accounts and we are not obliged to provide you with a reasoning. If your Account is deleted, you may lose access to any information associated with that Account.

License Limitations

You acknowledge you will not directly or indirectly do the following:

  • Encourage, promote or participate in any activity or action that we deem to be against our Services;
  • Encourage, promote or participate in any Game rule breaking activities;
  • Encourage, promote or participate in any Cheating activities;
  • Use man-in-the-middle, crawlers, spiders, robots software, or any other automated processes to access, use, reverse engineer, or manipulate the Services, Service Accounts, or Rust Reborn;
  • Promote, encourage, or participate in any activity involving hacking, phishing, distribution, modding of the Services in any way not authorized by us;
  • Create or utilize any in-game items created or duplicated by using game bugs, undocumentated issues, or design flaws of the Services;
  • Attempt to harass, bully, abuse, harm, threaten, or embarrass another person, us, or advocate or incite what is stated above;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Services or Accounts not belonging to you; or
  • Use the Services where it is prohibited by law.

Purchases

Purchases are owned by Rust Reborn and are not your property. We may manage, regulate, control, modify or eliminate all Purchases at any time, without any notice or announcement and without payment to you. We shall have no liability if we exercise any such rights.

You must be at least sixteen (16) years of age in order to make purchases on Rust Reborn. If you are under the age of sixteen (16), you must have a permission from a parent or legal guardian in order to proceed with your purchase.

All charges in connection with the Services are payable in advance, final, and are not refundable in whole or in part, for any reason, except as required by applicable consumer rights law in your local jurisdiction.

All purchases have a duration, including "Lifetime" (which is lifetime). They may expire or get revoked any moment without any refunds and other forms of compensation without an explanation, e.g. game server gets closed.

Any purchases with timespan "Lifetime" will be revoked on any servers that get closed and you will not be refunded. You will not receive any compensation for unused Purchases when an Account is deleted or closed.

Published content

Any content you upload to or through our Services must be accurate, complete, and free from fraud, of any Intellectual Property Rights infringement, from threats, invasion of privacy, and other injuries to third parties; must be in compliance with these Terms of Service, not be in violation of any law, or other parties' rights; must be free of viruses, spam, adware, or other malicious code. Content that you post will be considered non-confidential.
